Bob Welsh is an executive leader as former general counsel for a multi-­‐billion dollar global consumer products company. In addition to a strong intellectual property background, he also has broad and deep experience in all legal matters associated with developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer and technology products. Bob has built and led groups of legal professionals in handling IP matters, addressing regulatory compliance issues, developing advertising claims support for marketing programs, and managing a variety of complex domestic and international litigations. As a member of the executive leadership team, he participated in strategic planning setting long term business objectives.

Bob Welsh has extensive experience in identifying intellectual property issues and opportunities. He takes a business-­‐focused approach in identifying and obtaining the most commercially impactful protection. Throughout his career, Bob has performed and developed patentability processes and programs. He has helped identify the proper use of IP assets and investment leading to successful enforcement actions and business opportunities. He has also worked with R&D teams in analyzing competitor’s portfolios to identify freedom to operate issues, and to assess competition’s technological direction.

Bob has a chemistry degree and law degree from Indiana University. He started his career as a patent attorney with Dow Chemical Company working on specialty polymer technology. He joined Ralston Purina Company after it acquired Eveready Battery Company from Union Carbide Corporation, and built Eveready’s, now Energizer’s, patent department. Bob then became General Counsel for Energizer Personal Care, LLC, after Energizer acquired Playtex Products.
