Doug Wilson
Former Global Operations & Marketing Executive - SunEdison
Since January of 2017, Doug has been an independent executive management consultant for business transformations, market expansions, operations & supply chain performance and supplier partnerships; primarily engaged with businesses focused on renewable energy and semiconductor materials. His current activities include international growth and startup phase companies in solar/wind energy, battery applications and silicon materials manufacturing. He currently participates as a lead mentor for the Ameren Energy and Capital Innovators start-up accelerator programs in St Louis, a process to advise and coach early stage businesses through a structured 12-week program.
Previously, Doug was the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for EPCM, (Engineering, Procurement & Construction Management) Program Management Operations at SunEdison. He was focused on cost reduction activities for the construction of solar and wind projects throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, India and China. He also held the position of Vice President for Global Operations & Maintenance, where he led the operations and servicing for over 1800 renewable energy facilities producing solar, wind and hydroelectric power in North/South America, Europe, India, China and other Asia Pacific locations.
For the prior 18 years, Doug was with SunEdison Semiconductor, a company that originated as MEMC Electronic Materials in St Peters Missouri. He held senior executive positions in General Management, Operations Management, Product Marketing and Product Management. He also held a number of functional area leadership positions in Production Planning, Plant Construction, Capital Management, Operations, Inventory/Cycle Time Management and Quality Engineering. For the majority of his final years with SunEdison Semiconductor, his operational and marketing experience had been through leading manufacturing operations and serving customers in Japan, Taiwan, Korea, China, Singapore, Europe and North America.
Prior to joining MEMC Electronic Materials in 1996, Doug served in the U.S. Navy for 9 years as a naval officer and aviator, piloting the aircraft carrier based F/A-18 Hornet and A-6E Intruder aircraft. Additionally, he served as a Navy weapons Flight Test Director for cruise missile programs and in a variety of flight operations, maintenance and training roles.
Doug holds an MBA from Washington University in St Louis and a bachelor’s degree from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland.
