Dr. George Michaels is a highly accomplished senior executive. He is a visionary leader, strategist, critical thinker, tactical specialist, inventor, technology leader, and service-leader mentor. He boasts a great deal of product development knowledge with technology start-ups, growth, and turn-around organizations. He has experience with due diligence and acquiring / merging corporations.

George is an internationally recognized computational science pioneer, who successfully brings information technology to applications of complexity sciences for discovery. His professional career has spanned across a broad range of activities, namely focused on developing information technologies that have sweeping impacts in defense, life sciences and high-technology industries. He has led government research organizations, created business units and research programs and chaired symposiums. He has successfully directed strategic research partnerships with government agencies and laboratories for energy, environment and life sciences which require extreme numerical and data-intensive computing capabilities.

He has served in senior executive positions to build new business and research units at Intel, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Battelle Memorial Institute, Monsanto and George Mason University. He has also been a principal in two startups with successful exits, Helix Information Systems (software) and Genome Dynamics (biotechnology).
Dr. Michaels has a publication and patent history to match this breadth of business development, research and management skills. As an internationally recognized computational pioneer, his career focused successfully bringing technology to applications of complexity sciences for discovery and organizational development.

George received his Doctor of Philosophy, in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology degree and Bachelors of Science in Microbiology degree from the University of Florida. He did his postdoctoral training in Developmental Genetics at the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.
